Primrose Valley, Filey has enough entertainment facilities to keep you busy for weeks, but if you do want to venture out, you will find many brochures and leaflets in our caravan, of great places to see and visit. Below are just a small selection of local attractions not to be missed -
Yorkshires Local Attractions
Port of Whitby - Count the many steps to the Abbey, and enjoy the fantastic views over this historic port from where Captain Cook set sail.
Yorkshire Dales - Unbeatable for remote landscapes, way-marked walks, good country pubs and Heritage sites. Traversed by a great steam railway.
York - Walk the Roman city walls, visit the Jorvik Centre, the National Railway Museum, the Minster or enjoy a River Ouse cruise.
Great Days Out
Flamingo Land - A major Theme Park and Zoo, with over 100 family rides. Don't worry, they're all covered by the single price admission.
Pleasure Island - An exciting family Theme Park with over 50 rides - dare you try the Boomerang rollercoaster, the mighty Condor or the free-falling Hyperblaster?
Yorkshire Air Museum - One of only a few authentic RAF bomber bases open to the public, with a unique collection of aircraft and fascinating artefacts.
Leisure Cruises - A big choice of river and sea trips from Boston or Whitby, including seabird and seal spotting.
Eden Camp, The Peoples War 1939-1945 - 6 acres of living history a great day out. Award winning museum, see the different huts from the beginning to the end of the war. Plus junior assault course.
Castle Howard - 18th century house with breathtaking grounds and temples, lakes and fountains. Magnificent house with extensive collections. Brideshead revisited filmed here.
Nature Trails & Beaches
Seaside Resorts - No coastline catches the holiday mood better, from Whitby, Scarborough, Bridlington and Filey.
Smugglers' Coves - Don't miss Staithes, Robin Hood's Bay or Boggle Hole, delightful ports and smuggling haunts.
Coastal Tracks - Take a walk on the wild side, to Gibraltar Point, Flamborough Head, Moggs Eye or Saltfleetby's Threadneedle Dunes. To Filey Brigg, or Ravenscar, with picnic sites all the way.
You can explore the delights of Yorkshire, including fun-filled hours in Scarborough, including a visit to the castle, or a short drive south takes you to picturesque Bridlington Harbour. If you don’t fancy driving, check out the MV Yorkshire Belle Cruises and the Coach Tours. All in all Yorkshire has all the ingredients for a great day out.
